Wisconsin Paddler Hits the Water Monthly

17 Mar

Wisconsin’s Appleton Post-Crescent recently published a story, HERE, and the video above about canoe-builder and avid paddler Dave Dickinson, who braves Wisconsin winters to paddle at least once each month.

The Post-Crescent caught up with Dickinson on the Fox River — part of the old native and voyageur route that connected lake Michigan and the rest of the Great Lakes watershed with the Mississippi River. He was paddling a cedar-strip canoe he built himself.

Weather conditions when Dickinson was paddling: Sunny, temperature 35 degrees, wind-chill 23, snow at the landing, ice on the water.
