Students Design Nova Craft Hulls

19 Feb

It’s not your father’s canoe.  But then, that’s the point.

Nova Craft Canoes, in conjunction with students of London, Ontario’s Fanshawe College unveiled three new hull designs aimed at attracting younger paddlers.  Canoeing.com’s own Alissa Johnson has the full story, HERE, in our Canoe Guide section.

Seventy-four students submitted designs, three of which were declared winners and then manufactured by Nova Craft.  The company, which last year introduced plaid, tie-died, and custom-made Canadian flag designs, wants to take advantage of the ease with which designs can be added to composite canoes.

The canoes will make appearances at the Toronto Outdoor Adventure Show, Canoecopiea in Madison, Wisconsin, the Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough, Ontario, and at the 25th Anniversary of the Canadian Heritage Rivers System conference in Ottawa.
