Canoe Rental Owner Charged in Drowning

11 Dec

Continuing our run of “police blotter” items …

We noticed THIS story about the owner of a canoe rental business in Illinois who faces felony obstruction of justice charges surrounding the accidental drowning of one of his customers.

After one of five underage customers, alleged to have been drinking, drowned near his business last July, canoe rental owner William Bickett is said to have ordered an employee to dispose of the teens’ alcohol before police arrived on the scene.

One of Bickett’s employees had already been charged in the incident.

Bickett’s attorney says his client has “done nothing wrong.”
