Canadian Wins Flatwater Bronze Medal

22 Aug

Thomas Hall earned an Olympic bronze medal for Canada with his third place finish in the men’s single (C-1) flatwater 1,000 meter final. The Pointe-Claire, Quebec native paddled the distance in 3 minutes, 53.653 seconds.

Attila Sandor Vajda of Hungary won the gold medal in 3:50.467; David Cal of Spain took the silver in 3:52.751.

Hall credited his success to a change in attitude.

“I’ve become a lot happier and a lot more comfortable with myself and I think it showed this season,” Hall told Canada’s National Post. “I raced the way I’ve always known I can race and haven’t done before. I’m excited for the future.”
