AuSable Canoe Marathon Entries on Record Pace

North America’s longest non-stop canoe race seems to be getting more popular.

The 2008 Weyerhaeuser AuSable River Canoe Marathon, scheduled for July 26 and 27 currently lists 72 entrants. THIS story in the Gaylord Herald Times reports that the 68 entrants registered after the July 4th holiday was ahead of pace for a record field in the event.

This year’s AuSable Canoe Marathon will be the 61st running of the popular and highly competitive race. The race begins in Grayling. Michigan and finishes 120 river miles later in Oscoda, Michigan.
